  Entrance Test for Engineering Colleges in Maharashtra
  Admission to engineering colleges and institutes in Maharashtra can beobtained by sitting for the Maharashtra Engineering Common Entrance Test (MAH-EN-CET).
  Eligibility Criteria for MAH-EN-CET
  In order to get admission in one of the Maharashtra engineering colleges, prospective candidates need to pass their HSC (Std. XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or an examination of its equivalent value. Students from outside Maharashtra state and Jammu and Kashmir can also apply for the common entrance test provided that the prospective candidates satisfy the required eligibility criteria.
  MAH-EN-CET
  Profile
  The MAH-EN-CET question paper consists of only one common paper that is made up of multiple choice questions. The question paper is divided into 2 sections namely physics and mathematics. The paper will include 50 multiple choice questions in physics and 50 multiple choice questions in mathematics. The total marks that the student scores in both the sections together will decide the merit limit of the candidate. The syllabus for preparing for the MAH-EN-CET is based on the physics and maths syllabus as prescribed by the H.S.C Board of Maharashtra for class XII exams conducted in the current academic year.
Other Entrance Tests for Engineering Colleges in Maharashtra There are a number of engineering colleges in Maharashtra that take candidates based on other common entrance tests conducted for the whole of India such as: All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) All India engineering entrance examination is held by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) along with the department of Secondary and Higher Education and the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). The exam is conducted in compliance with the directives put down by the Government of India. All India Common Entrance Examination (AICET) Many engineering colleges in Maharashtra also take scores of candidates who sit for the All India Common Entrance Examination. AICET is the common entrance test for hundreds of competitive examinations. To sit for the AICET exams, candidates need to have acquired qualifying marks in subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics in their plus two examinations. IIT Joint Entrance Examination (IIT JEE)Candidates who wish to get admission in IIT Mumbai need to pass the Joint Entrance Tests (JEE). The question paper for IIT JEE is set by the faculty members who are chosen from the colleges that would be admitting the students.
